I was working the gate at a sporting event this weekend and overheard an exchange between a husband, wife, and a friend of theirs. They were talking about the gate fee ($5) and the husband didn’t have any cash so turned to the wife for some money. “She only gives me 20 bucks a week,” he says to his friend over his shoulder, “and most of that went to the concession stand yesterday – I’m broke until she pays me again on Monday. (Laughing) I don’t even know where the money goes – she handles all of that.”
